Dear Parkville Families,
I am excited to welcome our students back for the 2026-2027 school year. We have been diligently preparing over the summer to ensure that students and families have a positive and enriching experience this coming year. Part of this work is a look back on the successes of last year, and I am excited to share some highlights. Parkville reported a 6.58% increase in ELA performance, which was the largest gain in Baltimore County. We also saw a 5.5% decrease in the number of students considered chronically absent and a 7% increase of 9th grade students on track to graduate at the end of the year.
As we begin our second year as a Community School, our focus continues to be on student attendance and involvement. We want our Knights to Be Here, Get Involved, as Nothing Stops a Knight. We will be celebrating and encouraging good attendance as well as increasing access to after-school support and activities.
The safety of the students and staff at Parkville High School remains my top priority. This focus on safety enables us to concentrate on providing students with the tools they need to succeed in their chosen career paths.
Effective communication between school and home is of utmost importance. You should have received a phone call and an email on July 13. If you did not receive both the call and the email, please contact us to update your contact information. It is essential that we have your current email address, as important information is most often sent as email attachments.
Included in this communication is Wellness Center guidance, the A/B calendar, as well as other important information to start the year. As additional information to start our school year is finalized, we will continue to communicate with families through August.
