Class of 2021 and Parents/Guardians,

As you know, this has been a challenging year for our students, especially Juniors who are typically visiting colleges, preparing for the SAT and writing their college essays in English class. Below you will find a list of resources that we hope will assist you in preparing yourself for the four year college application process. The college timeline will assist you in determining what tasks you should be working on each month. The essay powerpoint and essay prompt document will help you craft your first draft of a college essay. We will follow up by editing those drafts at the start of senior year in English class.

Most importantly, students who plan to apply to four year colleges and universities need to take the SAT this fall. The SAT will be offered on the following dates:

Saturday August 29th  (registration deadline 7/31)

Saturday September 26th (registration deadline 8/26)

Saturday October 3rd (registration deadline 9/4)

Saturday November 7th (registration deadline 10/7)

We are recommending students take the SAT twice in the fall. Students must register for the test at Students who get free/reduced lunch or are struggling with a financial hardship due to COVID-19 are eligible for a fee waiver for the SAT. However, I have not received new fee waiver codes from Baltimore County yet. Please email Ms. Serico and let me know you need a waiver- I will collect a list and distribute fee waivers via email as soon as we get them!

Ms. Allen and I are available to support any and all questions you have about this process.
